Why have I never thought to make a mushroom before? They are adorable!

I recently watched Tinkerbell with my daughter, and I just loved the fairy village with the tiny mushrooms. I also just finished a Lord of the Rings marathon with my husband which had all of the cute Hobbit-y things!

I was inspired and decided to attempt a mushroom crochet pillow. I already had some yarn left over from another project. I love this Bernat Blanket Yarn and I loved the red color they have as it was perfect for that mushroom cap. The first pillow – the black, white and brown one in the picture above – was my first attempt and I didn’t write up my pattern based on this one. I used a 7mm crochet hook – these Crochet Hooks are my favorite. This Crochet Hook Set is great because it also comes with stitch markers and a tapestry needle which is needed to complete the mushroom.

It took me about 3 days to complete this mushroom, spending about 1 hour each day on it. It was fairly quick and since you are just working with one stitch it goes pretty fast. The most tedious part of the process is making your mushroom dots, but again those move quickly.
